‘Alfred The Great Hoax’ by daibpdaibp

24-June-2019 JLB

He was ranked #14 on BBC’s poll of the 100 great Britons of all time, placing him ahead of Margaret Thatcher (#16) and even Sir Paul McCartney (#19).

He is one of only two Kings to have received the Epithet ‘Great’ (along with Cnut the Great, and I promise you, that is not a typo).

One of our several British correspondents here at johnlebon.com, daibpdaibp, put together this remarkable piece of research and exposition about Alfred the Great.
